In 2005, when Jah'Leah was seven years old, we noticed that her hair was falling out in the back of her head above her hairline. The more we combed her hair, the more visible the hair loss. Jah'Leah has a history of eczema. During a visit to her dermatologist, Jah'Leah was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. Initially the dermatologist treated her with topical steroid creams, however the disease had progressed and her hair began to fall out in other areas of her head. When the dermatologist determined that the topical treatments were not working, she started Jah'Leah on a more progressive treatment plan, which included steroid injections applied directly to the affected areas. The treatment continued for several months with no improvement. Jah'Leah's hair began to come out by the handfuls. We were then referred to an Alopecia specialist. At this point, Jah'Leah had lost all of her hair. The specialist offered a specific diagnosis of Alopecia Totalis.

A treatment plan was prescribed and tried for several months, again with no improvement. We were referred to another specialist who worked primarily with severe hair loss. We began to see steady improvement, Jah'Leah's hair began to grow back but unfortunately again we were dealt a devastating blow, the specialist closed his practice in December of 2008. Jah'Leah was very upset and depressed about losing what seemed to be her only source of progress and hope.

At wits end, a friend referred us to Elizabeth Ashley Invisible Lace Wigs where she had purchased Jah'Leah's first wig. It was a tremendous boost to Jah'Leah's self esteem, she began smiling again, became more confident and was more comfortable in social situations. Before we discovered Elizabeth Ashley, we were purchasing wigs on a monthly basis from the local beauty supply store. With the durability of the Elizabeth Ashley Invisible Lace Wigs, we have found a solution that has brought tremendous joy to my daughter, it melts my heart to see my daughter happy and confident again! We greatly appreciate your kindness!

Thank You Elizabeth Ashley!
